Current HCFO Grantee Named Chair of the Health Policy and Management Department at UCLA

Jack Needleman, professor of health policy and management in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, has been named to the Fred W. and Pamela K. Wasserman Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management as chair of the department. He is currently leading a HCFO-funded study [1] that will examine the effects of changes in the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) to determine whether the 2003 EMTALA policy change may be having adverse consequences for uninsured and other vulnerable patients.
