Findings from a study led by Jeffrey McCullough, Ph.D., assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, were highlighted in the April 6, 2010 Disease Management Care Blog post, “Health Affairs and Their Issue on Health Information Technology: Your DMCB Helps You Take a Tour [1].” The post discusses the April 2010 issue of Health Affairs and Dr. McCullough’s article, “The Effect of Health Information Technology on Quality in U.S. Hospitals [2].” This article presents findings from his HCFO grant that is examining the quality and cost effects of clinical information technology (IT), specifically computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems.
