HCFO Study on Hospital Quality Reporting Highlighted in the Seattle-Post Intelligencer

Findings from a study led by Judith H. Hibbard, Dr.P.H., professor at the University of Oregon, were highlighted in the March 22, 2010 Seattle-Post Intelligencer article, “Hospital Safety Info Shielded from Public [1].” Dr. Hibbard and colleagues completed HCFO-sponsored research that examined whether public reports of quality lead to improvement efforts within hospitals and whether the public reports created a general impression among consumers about the quality and safety of hospitals in the community.
