HCFO Grantees Present at a Briefing on Consumer Engagement

HCFO grantees Jessie Gruman, Ph.D., founder and president of the Center for Advancing Health, and Judith H. Hibbard, Dr.P.H., professor at the University of Oregon, spoke at the May 20, 2010, Center for Advancing Health briefing “What Actions Do Americans Currently Take to Find and Make Good Use of Their Health Care?” Dr. Gruman and colleagues completed HCFO-funded case studies of four successful decision-support tools from industries unrelated to health care in order to promote greater public demand and use of decision tools for health care. Dr. Hibbard and colleagues completed several HCFO-sponsored studies examining consumers’ use of quality information.
