The Comptroller General of the United States, Gene L. Dodaro, and the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) appointed five new members to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). Among them was HCFO researcher, Jack Hoadley, Ph.D., of the Health Policy Institute at Georgetown University. Congress established MedPAC in 1997 to analyze access to care, cost and quality of care, and other key issues affecting Medicare. MedPAC advises Congress on payments to health plans participating in the Medicare Advantage program and providers in Medicare's traditional fee-for-service programs. Dr. Hoadley has published widely on health care financing and pharmaco-economics, and has provided testimony to government panels. His term expires in April 2015.
