In a podcast about how consumers are interacting with transparency, Steve Koch of Sitewire Health interviewed David Schleifer, Ph.D., Public Agenda, about his recently completed study, funded under the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Understanding the Use and Impact of Price Data in Health Care solicitation. Schleifer and colleagues found that more than half of Americans have actively looked for health care price information, with 21 percent comparing prices across multiple providers. Additionally, they found that the majority of Americans do not believe that higher-priced care is necessarily better-quality care.
